Honourable Matthew "Jay" Stubbs
Honourable Matthew “Jay” Stubbs represents The Bight constituency with a strong focus on infrastructure improvements, public safety, and community development. Stubbs’ commitment to crime prevention and community safety is evident through his advocacy which resulted in the “Lights on in The Bight” program, and initiative that has enhanced the safety and visibility in the constituency through the installation of street lighting and sidewalks in key areas. These efforts also extend to CCTV cameras and new lights on prominent roads, increasing security for both residents and tourists.
Stubbs is dedicated to promoting local entrepreneurship and cultural engagement. He has been instrumental in supporting the Vendors Outpost at the Fish Fry, which provides local vendors with an organized, visible space to connect with visitors and showcase local goods and culture. His legislative contributions include working on the Merchant Shipping Bill, recognized as one of the most advanced in the Caribbean, and his expertise extends to the development of the Beach Coastal and Vending Bills, both of which aim to preserve local spaces while supporting small businesses.

The Bight
Electoral District 6, encompassing The Bight area of Providenciales, has experienced significant development and community engagement under the leadership of Honourable Matthew “Jay” Stubbs. Since his election in February 2021, MP Stubbs has focused on enhancing infrastructure, fostering community well-being, and addressing environmental concerns to improve the quality of life for his constituents.
Honourable Stubbs has prioritized improving street lighting to enhance safety and visibility. The “Lights on in The Bight” initiative has seen the installation of new lights along key routes, including the area from Wymara to IGA, with support from Fortis TCI. This project aims to reduce accidents and deter criminal activity.
To improve pedestrian safety and accessibility, new sidewalks have been constructed in various parts of The Bight. These additions provide residents with safer walking paths, encouraging walking as a mode of transportation.
