Honourable Charles Washington Misick

Born on March 13, 1950, in Bottle Creek, North Caicos, Honourable Charles Washington Misick, OBE, has dedicated his life to the advancement and prosperity of the Turks and Caicos Islands. As the eldest of 12 siblings, including his brother Michael Misick, a former Premier, he was instilled with a strong sense of duty and community service from an early age.

Premier Misick’s academic journey led him to the University of Technology, where he studied Business Studies and Business Administration & Accounting. He further honed his leadership skills at Harvard University, equipping himself with the knowledge to navigate complex economic and political landscapes.

His professional career is marked by significant contributions to both the public and private sectors. He held senior audit positions with PriceWaterhouse-Coopers and served as Chairman and CEO of the Prestigious Group, a real estate sales and development company. His expertise in finance and real estate development has been instrumental in shaping the economic framework of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Premier Misick’s political career began in 1991 when he was elected as Chief Minister, a position he held until 1995. During this tenure, he focused on economic stabilization and growth, laying the foundation for future development. He returned to politics in 2012, serving as Minister of Finance, Trade, and Investment until 2016, where he implemented policies that strengthened the nation’s economic resilience. In 2021, he was elected Premier, leading the Progressive National Party to a decisive victory. 

Throughout his leadership, Premier Misick has championed sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, and the empowerment of youth and women. He is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment that supports local entrepreneurs and ensures the prosperity of all citizens. His vision encompasses a united and progressive Turks and Caicos Islands, prepared to meet future challenges and opportunities.

In recognition of his extensive public service, Premier Misick was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2000 New Year Honours. 

A devoted family man, he is married to Delthia Misick and is a father and grandfather. His personal life reflects his commitment to community and faith, as he is an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
