Public Works Policy

The Progressive National Party believes in building a robust infrastructure that enhances the quality of life for all Turks and Caicos Islanders. Our public works initiatives focus on sustainable development, efficient transportation, and accessible facilities that serve both current and future needs. By investing in critical infrastructure, we are laying the foundation for a thriving nation where communities are connected, safe, and supported.

Public Works Achievements

The PNP government has launched transformative public works projects across all islands, from road improvements to water supply enhancements. Our achievements demonstrate a commitment to sustainable infrastructure that meets the needs of our people and fosters national growth. Explore our recent accomplishments in building a stronger, more connected Turks and Caicos below.

The PNP government has advanced the development of South Dock Port, a vital project that will improve import and export capabilities for the Turks and Caicos Islands. By expanding this essential infrastructure, the government aims to reduce import costs, boost trade, and support the growing needs of our economy. This development will help ensure that Turks and Caicos remains competitive in the regional and global markets.

As part of a commitment to public health and reliable access to water, the PNP has invested in significant water infrastructure upgrades, including a one-million-gallon saltwater reverse osmosis plant and expanded storage facilities. These advancements ensure that communities have access to clean and safe water, supporting both residential needs and economic activities across the islands.

To improve transportation and connectivity, the PNP has implemented a series of road improvement projects throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. These upgrades make commuting safer and more efficient for residents and enhance access to key areas for visitors. Improved road infrastructure plays a crucial role in supporting economic growth and connecting communities.

The installation of over 800 smart water meters (with more on the way) reflects the PNP’s commitment to modernizing utility infrastructure. These smart meters allow for more efficient water management, reduce wastage, and give households better control over water usage. This initiative is part of a broader effort to incorporate technology into public services for improved efficiency.

The PNP government has invested in infrastructure that enhances resilience against natural disasters, including hurricane-proof facilities and improved drainage systems in flood-prone areas. These efforts are designed to protect citizens, property, and critical assets during extreme weather events, ensuring that communities are better prepared and safer.
